Virtual Soldier Museum

93rd Canadian Infantry Battalion In front of the Peterborough Armoury, 1914.

Welcome to Peterborough, Ontario's Virtual Soldier Museum. This museum is a collection of webpages created to commemorate soldiers from the Peterborough and surrounding area who were killed during the First World War.

Within this site you will find a series of webpages designed by grade 10 students at Adam Scott C.V.I. in Peterborough, Canada. As each soldiers page was created by a different student, they vary in style and in the information that they present. Most feature attestation papers and other records or photographs. Many also have a short section on a topic related to the time period, which will allow for a greater understanding of the lives they are meant to commemorate. Additionally, many of the soldier pages feature authentic looking letters. Unless otherwise stated these are fictional letters written by the students who created the page, with the intention of exploring what life may have been like during war time.

Work on this project began in 2016 and was published in 2018.
